Over on theDailyMuse.com Nicole wrote a piece for their “Lessons To My Younger Self” titled Stop Smiling and Nodding. Here’s an excerpt:
After I graduated college, I finally snagged the crush I had thoughout high school. He was the chisel-jawed, blue-eyed editor of the newspaper and the only person I knew who scored a perfect 1600 on his SATs. He was the geek-chic guy who quoted Clausewitz, Sartre, and Better Than Ezra all in the same breath. He was brilliant, and I was totally smitten.
We talked about a future together. We talked about the home we would share and the kids we might have. Then, he told me his dream of becoming a hedge fund manager.
Business Insider took it upon themselves to find out what a day in the life of Nicole is like. She starts her day at 5:30 and the rest (which I found interesting!) you can check out for yourself via this link.
Nicole recently appeared on @Work With Tory Johnson on ABC, telling us what trends to stay away from and what not to wear to work (if you work in an office). Get your notepads out and hope Nicole never smells you in an office!
Nicole is one busy bee! Having recently announced the launch of her new production company Nothing But Gold, today the first in a series of its media platforms was launched — Recessionista.com. Nicole says:
“It is not a coincidence that Recessionista is the first initiative launched by Nothing But Gold Productions. The financial journalism world is devoid of content specifically geared towards women my age. We are in dire need of advice and information to intelligently guide our financial decisions in a fun, sassy, non-judgey way.”
After her big announcement earlier today, Nicole was straight back in action as she anchored for MSNBC (above). She also made an appearance on Today Show as a financial expert (below). Also check out the video of her on “Jansing & Co.” from this morning.
NICOLE LAPIN LAUNCHES PRODUCTION COMPANY Nothing But Gold to Create Accessible Financial Content
Nicole Lapin announced today the launch of Nothing But Gold — a multimedia production company focused on creating accessible financial content across various platforms. Lapin will develop and host television shows, and create digital and print content for major media outlets.
“I saw an enormous void of candid financial reporting and resources customized for my generation, and I believe I am best positioned to fill it,” Lapin said.
Additionally, Lapin is currently working on publishing a book entitled Decoding The Wall Street Journal, the first of her book series that tackles and decodes intimidating money-related topics, while also preparing to launch a suite of online personal finance and investment tools for a generation consistently overwhelmed by such topics.
“I look forward to building on the network and skills I have been so fortunate to develop as an anchor at both CNN and CNBC by bridging the conversation between Wall Street and Main Street during such a crucial time,” Lapin said.
