Nicole hosted an event with Melinda Doolittle and Sec. of Education of US Margaret
Spellings in NY. Source
She also interviewed Melinda Doolittle:

Nicole calls her a “World Idol” for her malaria work…(we think she should have been the American Idol, too! She rocks!)

6 degrees is a cute magazine (www.sixdegreesmag.com) that had an article on Nicole this month.
She says her parents didn’t let her watch the news growing up– now look at her! “I’d used to sneakily flip on CNN like it was an R-rated movie. The Gulf War, the Live from Baghdad days– that was what piqued my interest in journalism.” She says, “It’s not my goal to be a superstar; I want to do good consistent work. My work is what should speak for my career and guide me to the future.” (We think she’s already a superstar!)

Nicole made the annual 21 Principles of Iconic Style issue of Men’s Health out with Jamie Foxx and Andy Samberg on the duel-cover fatty September edition. She talks about how men should have style and class. She says, “Chivalry is not charismatic if it’s forced.”
Nicole isn’t a drama queen like so many other young women in the news. She says, “Drama is a big turnoff for me– in a bedroom, in an office, or in a restaurant. I don’t want a guy to lose his cool.”
Nicole looks gorgeous and sophisticated photographed in front of an old bookcase. She says, “Intelligence is attractive, but so is life experience. You can’t amass it just by reading a ton of books. But you can live a lot of life in a short time. Travel. Talk to everyone. Collect adventures, and use them to understand the world. That’s how you learn to treat people well. And that’s sexy.”
Her thoughts on travel have already inspired men.

Bighearted charity supporter Nicole Lapin’s name was part of the “Keep a Breast” Susan G. Komen for the Cure fundraiser in Atlanta. What a nice thing to be part of, right? Well, CNN didn’t think so. When CNN saw Nicole’s name attached to the event they immediately put a stop to it.
According to Seriouslyomg.com, several Atlanta journalists were getting casts made of their breasts for an auction at the event and Lapin was not one of them, but that didn’t stop CNN from calling the publicist of the event and telling them to remove Lapin’s name, “I feel like I should still be sitting in a corner with a dunce cap on,” the publicist said. “Apparently, this was not run by certain people at CNN, and I was informed that this was not something CNN anchors would ever participate in.”
A CNN anchor wanting to be part of a good cause, oh the shame, CNN wouldn’t want that. CNN released the following, and stupid, statement regarding the event, “Things like this have to be approved,” Martin said. “This wasn’t. There was a miscommunication. Nicole was aware of the event, but it was not on her calendar. Susan G. Komen is a great foundation. But if our talent is involved or if their name is being used in connection to an outside event, we need to know about it.”
Why didn’t they just approve it then? Nicole, who is also involved with the Starlight Starbright children’s foundation, has supported Susan G. Komen in the past and should be allowed to continue to do so.
